Meet the hot new bikes already wearing SRAM's 12-speed eTap AXS groupset

The launch of the new SRAM RED eTap AXS 12-speed groupset has made headlines in the cycling world and it comes as no surprise that, following its release, some of the biggest brands are releasing their flagship framesets draped in these exciting new parts. SRAM 12-speed RED eTap AXS HRD review 3T launch full bike range equipped with SRAM 12-speed Our senior tech editor Warren Rossiter has been riding the groupset for around three months now and has given SRAM’s range-topping product a perfect, five-star review . Impey wins the 2019 Tour Down Under as Porte takes Willunga

Daryl Impey celebrates winning the 2019 Tour Down under

Richie Porte ( Trek-Segafredo ) claimed his sixth straight win on Willunga Hill on stage 6 of the 2019 Tour Down Under as Daryl Impey ( Mitchelton-Scott ) became the first rider in the race's history to retain his crown. Porte attacked several times on the final ascent, first to battle back and catch Wout Poels (Team Sky) and then to push clear inside the final 600 meters. Impey, just as he did in 2018, paced his effort perfectly to finish just a few bike lengths behind Porte and Poels. Overnight race leader Patrick Bevin (CCC Team) battled through the stage but was dropped on the first ascent of Willunga Hill, clearly suffering the effects of his stage 5 crash. In the battle for the overall, Impey finished clear of Porte by 13 seconds, with Poels rounding out the podium four seconds later. Impey came into the final stage seven ...

Tour Down Under: Peter Sagan wins stage 3 in Uraidla

Peter Sagan throws his bike for the line to win stage 3 of the Tour Down Under ahead of Luis Leon Sa

Peter Sagan ( Bora-Hansgrohe ) reprised his role from 2018 during stage 3 at the Tour Down Under on Thursday, taking the stage win again in Uraidla after following Daryl Impey's initial jump to the line on the slightly uphill finish. Unlike 2018, however, when Impey (Mitchelton-Scott) came in second to Sagan on his way to winning the overall, the South African was beaten to the line by Astana's Luis Leon Sanchez, who claimed the runner-up spot this time. Overnight leader Patrick Bevin (CCC Team) finished fifth on the same time as Sagan and held onto his race lead by one second over the former world champion. Sanchez is now third, nine seconds back, with Impey in fifth at 11 seconds. "I'm very happy to win, and very grateful to my teammates," Sagan told the media after stepping down off the podium. "They did a great job and took care ...

Tour Down Under: Bevin wins stage 2 in Angaston

Patrick Bevin wins stage 2 at the Tour Down Under

Patrick Bevin ( CCC Team ) laid down his biggest marker yet in the battle for the overall crown at the Tour Down Under by winning stage 2 in a reduced bunch sprint. The new race leader powered clear to win ahead of Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal) and Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe). A crash in the final few hundred metres took down several riders and held up the majority of the peloton. Bevin responded to a late attack from Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana) and powered to the line inside the final 150m. There was a late charge from Caleb Ewan but the pint-sized sprinter was unable to even draw level with Bevin in the closing metres. Sagan, was best of the rest, while EIia Viviani was caught too far back to contest the win. "I think that on a finish like that I can play my cards pretty well, obviously, having ...

Peter Sagan to debut alloy frame and tubeless tyres in Down Under Classic - Gallery

Former world champion Peter Sagan will ride an alloy Specialized Allez Sprint Disc at the Tour Down

This article first appeared on BikeRadar . Peter Sagan and a selection of his Bora-Hansgrohe teammates will race the Down Under Classic criterium on Sunday aboard custom-painted Specialized Allez Sprint Disc framesets. "I did some training on the bike at the team camp in Mallorca in December. Now they've built me a new bike, with new colours. It's a lot stiffer than the Venge and the Tarmac but we'll see. We're going to try and race it in the criterium and then we'll see how it goes. This will be the first time I've raced on it," Sagan exclusively told Cyclingnews at the Tour Down Under pre-race press conference. "I've raced an alloy frame before but not since I was a junior rider, maybe even before that. Certainly not in a very long time but I'm looking forward to it." Sagan’s alloy frame and carbon fork are paired with Bora-Hansgrohe’s ...

BMC Team Machine SLR02 Disc Two review

BMC Team Machine SLR02 Disc Two review

BMC’s Team Machine is one of the most successful bikes of modern times. The first-generation model propelled Cadel Evans to his Tour win in 2011 and saw Phillippe Gilbert take the world title in 2012. The second-generation bike, and one of my favourite bikes of the last few years, carried Greg Van Avermaet to 2016 Olympic success. So, this third generation has a lot to live up to. Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL6 Disc review

Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL6 Disc review

The Specialized-branded power meter may be the headline, but the main story here is that the Specialized Tarmac SL6 Disc comes dressed head-to-toe in house components that meet, if not exceed ,the quality of many specialty brands. Oh, and the bike is a delight to ride, too, with its well-honed race geometry now complemented by a slightly softer-riding rear end and enhanced aerodynamics, plus Shimano's impeccable Dura-Ace 9170 hydraulic/Di2 group. Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9170 review Full stop: road disc brakes take over in 2018 Alpine delight: BMC Teammachine SLR01 Disc Team review Specialized is redefining what a ‘house brand’ can mean as a top-level contender with this bike.
