Women's Tour expands to six stages for 2019
Joe Robinson 21 Sep 2018 Race adds on extra stage as it continues it quest to reduce gender inequality in professional cycling Keeping itself at the forefront of parity in professional cycling, the Ovo Energy Women's Tour has announced it will expand to six stages for the first time in its history. Announced by race organiser Sweetspot, the women's stage race around Britain will expand from five days to six as of 2019 while also remaining part of the UCI Women's WorldTour. Dates and stage details for the 2019 event will be released in due course. Expansion to six days is just part of Sweetspot and Ovo Energy's pursuit to tackle gender inequality in cycling.
