The Colombian was nestled in the middle of the bunch with 4km remaining, following his Quick-Step Floors leadout train. However, the sprinter then had an opposing rider come across his front wheel, and with no time to react, he found himself on the deck. Hitting the ground hard, television cameras quickly picked up the rider returning to his feet in visible pain, bent over clearly clutching at his right shoulder. Immediately it appeared that Gaviria may have suffered a broken collarbone, although the 24-year-old did manage to remount his bike and roll over the line 4 minutes and 54 seconds ...
