On Boxing Day, the European champion - a lover of fast cars - unleashed his brutal power at the car racing circuit of Terlaemen during the seventh round of the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. Van der Poel completed an impressive solo, winning ahead of world champion Wout van Aert and new kid on the block Joris Nieuwenhuis (Sunweb Development Team).
