Peter Sagan to begin Classics at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Joe Robinson 12 Dec 2019 Former World Champion wants to make up for barren 2019 season Peter Sagan will warm up his Spring Classics legs in 2020 by racing othe pening weekend at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. After opening his season at the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina, Sagan will then head to Europe to race Omloop on 29th February as preparation for the Monuments of Milan-San Remo, the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix later in the Spring. Currently on a Bora-Hansgrohe training camp in Mallorca, Sagan will skip his usual season start at the Tour Down Under in order to focus on the Classics earlier. He will also be looking to make amends on a barren 2019 Classics season that saw him finish off of the podium in San Remo, Flanders and Roubaix.
