Hermans aiming for a stage win at Giro d'Italia

Israel Cycling Academy's Ben Hermans finishes stage 3 at Tirreno-Adriatico

Ben Hermans says that stage victories - rather than the general classification - will be his primary target when he rides the Giro d'Italia next month. The Belgian is one of four riders confirmed for the Israel Cycling Academy 's debut Grand Tour line-up, with Ruben Plaza, Krists Neilands and Guillaume Boivin all getting the nod. Hermans previously finished 14th overall at the 2016 Vuelta a España, and while he suggested late last year that he would like to improve on that at the Giro, stage success is at the forefront of his mind. "I will first focus on a stage win," the 31-year-old told Cyclingnews in Ora at the start of stage 3 of the Tour of the Alps on Wednesday.
