British National Champion Connor Swift joins Arkea-Samsic

Joseph Delves 13 May 2019 Mid-season move sees the champ edge further towards his WorldTour dream British National Road Race Champion Connor Swift has signed up with ProContinental cycling team Arkea-Samsic. With the squad based in Rennes, France the 23-year-old rider’s contract will initially run until the end of 2020. Now moving to Arkea-Samsic, his role will initially be to form up with the other fast riders to help lead out Andre Greipel in the sprint. Having hoped to make the jump to WorldTour level in 2019, Swift had previously gained a late-season stagiaire position with Dimension Data . However, uncertainty over the future of their sprinter Mark Cavendish made it difficult for a position for Swift to be found in the team.
