3T launches 2x Strada Due

Joe Robinson 5 Jul 2018 New version of 3T Strada has front mech hanger and to be available for Aqua Blue Sport riders When the 3T Strada launched last year it was heralded as radical. An aero road bike built specifically around disc brakes, optimised for 28mm tyres and most importantly 1x specific without provisions for a front mech. Now the brand has announced the 3T Strada Due, a traditional double chainring version of the same frame, going against the design justifications of the original 1x model. 3T believes that by having only one chainring eight watts in drag are saved while 300g in weight is shaved off through the loss of mechanical parts such as the mech and cabling, billing the Strada as the future of aerodynamic road bikes and stating that a single chainring was the next step in aero optimisation.
